FPD Adjuster Conference

Our Virtual Adjuster Conference is back…for the 3rd year!

Our Virtual Adjuster Conference is back!

The Field Pros Direct Virtual Adjuster Conference is back again, for the 3rd year, on May 2-6, 2022. We carefully considered an in-person even this year, but ultimately decided to move forward with a virtual conference instead. It’s important that we give all adjusters the opportunity to benefit from this conference, whether they can travel or not.

Adjusters loved that they could join from their homes and didn’t have to worry about travel. As one attendee stated

“Honestly, I loved it. I didn't have to be concerned about Covid, travel, long drives or a flight, booking hotels, finding meals... and I met enthusiastic professionals who wished to help me better succeed.” - 2021 Attendee

About the FPD Virtual Adjuster Conference

We continue to hold these conferences to encourage and empower adjusters by providing them with the tools and knowledge they need to go into hurricane season with confidence. During this multi-day event, we will bring together the FPD leadership team, Insurance Carriers, and Educational Companies to provide you with a wide range of relevant and valuable topics. Click here to view the conference schedule.

What’s New This Year?

In keeping with our core focus to constantly improve in all areas, we always try to add new sessions or functionality each year.  This year we’ve added:

  • More CE Credits. This year we have additional educational partners to provide more CE credits than last year.

  • Keynote Speaker, Vyrd Insurance. We’ve added a special keynote speaker as part of our opening session. David Howard, CEO/Founder of Vyrd Insurance, will be joining us to provide a Carrier’s perspective on technology in the insurance space and what adjusters should know.

Who Should Attend?

This event is free and open to any adjuster who is interested, whether you’re in our network or not. Even if you’re a seasoned adjuster, you can view the schedule to pick what sessions work best for you - including our networking sessions as well.

6 Reasons Adjusters Should Attend

If you’re not sure whether you should attend or not, here are 6 reasons why you won’t want to miss out:

  1. It’s FREE (again)! We are excited to offer this event to all adjusters for free! No, really, it’s free.

  2. No travel or special dress code is needed. You can join from literally anywhere you have Wifi or cell signal. That means your couch, your backyard, the beach - anywhere. Since it’s virtual, you can also wear your finest Zoomwear of a nice top with comfortable bottoms and no shoes if you want! The choice is yours.

  3. Get a chance to stand out. It’s hard to stand out as an adjuster, which is why we’re offering virtual networking so you can tell the team why you are unlike other adjusters.

  4. Make your own schedule. You don’t have to attend all sessions. Pick the best sessions for your goals and add those to your calendar after you register.

  5. Get more FPD Carrier Certifications.  When you complete an FPD Carrier Certification class, you get a certificate of completion. This certification is exclusive to FPD that helps increase your chances of getting assignments through that specific FPD Carrier.

  6. CE Credits. If you’re due for a license renewal, this is a great opportunity to earn CE credits at no cost to you, just your time.

How Can I Claim My Free Conference Ticket?

Visit www.fpdconference.com and select “Register” to claim your free ticket. Be sure to fill out your full first and last name as well as licensing information so that you can qualify for any FPD Carrier Certifications and CE credit sessions you attend.

The entire Field Pros Direct team is excited to be able to offer another virtual conference for you. If you have any questions about the event or registration, you can contact Ally Momot at hello@fieldprosdirect.com

We look forward to virtually seeing you there!

FPD 2nd Annual Virtual Adjuster Conference Recap

FPD 2nd Annual Virtual Adjuster Conference Recap

Another Virtual Conference completed! On April 26, 2021 Field Pros Direct kicked off our 2nd annual virtual conference to provide educational opportunities for adjusters. Last year, we had all intentions of hosting this in person, when COVID-19 caused us to pivot and pull together a virtual conference in just 5 weeks. With 2021 still bringing a lot of uncertainty to in-person events, we decided to continue with a virtual conference for the 2nd year in the row. Rest assured, we do plan on going back to in-person events in the future (with some virtual options as well).

What was new at the 2021 Adjuster Conference?

In an effort to honor our value of constantly improving, we knew that we needed to make this year even better than last year. Easier said than done in a virtual environment, but we did it! Here’s what was new:

Virtual Networking

Yes, virtual networking is a thing and this year we tried it out for the first time. Matt Anderson, FPD’s CEO, is a big advocate of networking in general as it helps get to know adjusters beyond their resume. It was something we knew we wanted to add this year and with the help of Ally Momot and the newest FPD team member, Jodi Cruz, we added two days of one-on-one networking sessions. Each adjuster was able to select a member of our management team to interview with and easily book a time online. We received great feedback and even deployed adjusters on an assignment already!

Educational Panel

This was like speed dating educational providers. Our goal was to create a one-stop-shop to showcase some of the educational resources available to adjusters, giving them one less thing to research. Each company shared a little about what they offer, recently added courses and even some exclusive discount codes for conference attendees: Our panel included:

Director’s Panel

As an adjuster, it’s always great to hear what you should do but it’s equally as important to know what not to do. With the help of our amazing Claims Directors, Bonnie Winters, Jeff Lee, Neil Atkins, and Matt Cronican, they shared common mistakes adjusters make with residential policy. Coming in at a 4.7 out of 5, we were beyond thrilled to hear that adjusters enjoyed it as much as our panel did!

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

CE Credits

This was a big win for us, as we weren’t able to get CE-accredited sessions last year due to the quick turnaround time on the conference. With the help of our educational partners, HAAG Education and SDII Global we offered 3 different CE-accredited sessions.

Session Highlights

On top of adding new features to this year’s Virtual Adjuster Conference, we also welcomed new Carrier Presenters and new content! Here are some highlights of our sessions:

  • Carrier Presentations: We partnered with some Carriers from our 2020 conference in addition to some new Carriers as well:

    • Lighthouse/Pharos: We welcomed back Erin Belk, Pharo’s Claim Manager to discuss new and existing policies and procedures adjusters should follow while handling Pharos or Lighthouse claims.

    • Boulder/ICAT: Another returning presenter, Randy Horden, Boulder’s Claim Manager, presented ICAT’s coverages in detail as well as what they expect from adjusters handling ICAT claims.

    • National Flood Services (NFS): Bob Butler, NFS’s Director of Claims, yet another familiar face to our conference, presented with Mary Anne Medina, FPD’s VP of Business Development, to discuss some high-level flood estimating methodology.

    • South Shore Insurance Underwriters (SSIU): Anne Norton, SSIU’s Claim Manager, joined us for the first time this year, in part thanks to our latest acquisition of Bridgewater Group. Anne’s presentation focused a lot on the values of SSIU and how they look to work with companies and adjusters who align with their mission to provide great service to their policyholders.

    • Velocity: Another new face this year, Meghan Fountain, Velocity’s Director of Claims, had a very interactive session that shared a lot of great insights on handling liability claims.

  • Corelogic Mobile Claims Overview: Leslie McLain, CoreLogic’s Client Training Professional, provided a fantastic live demo of Corelogic’s mobile claim platform. She went step-by-step through the claims process while highlighting some helpful tips on functionality adjusters may not have been aware of.

  • The Adjuster Playbook: After getting such great feedback from the NACA attendees on this presentation, we decided to bring a mini version to this year’s conference. Mary Anne Medina and Matt Cronican, Director of Customer Success, discussed new adjusting opportunities, resume tips and other ways for adjusters to stand out in the industry

  • Virtual Adjusting Overview: Virtual Adjusting continues to gain traction among Insurance Carriers and adjusters over the past year. We’ve also noticed that the definition of “virtual adjusting” varies in the marketplace. This is why Jeff Lee, FPD’s Director of Specialty Operations and Matt Cronican presented a high-level overview of Virtual Adjusting, with FPD’s Virtual Adjusting process in mind.

Educational Partners and Continuing Education

Both HAAG Education and SDII Global partnered with Field Pros Direct for this conference to provide CE courses to our adjusters for free! Based on the topics they’ve seen to be helpful to adjusters, they chose sessions that could provide 1 hour of CE credits each, while still making the course informative. Sessions included:

  • Flood Disaster - What to expect after to event, presented by Michael Schroerder from SDII Global

  • Roof Types, Materials and Systems - Damage identification and Code Issues, also presented by Michael Schroader from SDII Global

  • Unsealed Shingles presented by Jim Chaney from HAAG Education

Virtual Happy Hour

The happiest hour of the conference, aside from Matt Anderson’s presentation to kick-off the conference, was the virtual happy hour! Adjusters and FPD team members came together for a little friendly competition and more meet-and-greets. This year’s trivia was a mix of all catastrophe events and even some Disney references too (thanks to our avid Disney fan, Jodi Cruz). While we wish we could have met in person and even had more time to chat, it was great to see some new faces in addition to the adjusters who have worked with us before.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

That’s all folks!

To take from Meghan Fountain’s closing slide, “That’s all folks”. At 4.8 stars and 100% of the attendees who responded to our survey saying they would return again, we are thrilled with this year’s turnout. In our effort to not only improve ourselves, but empower others we are honored to be able to provide this great resource to our Field Pros! Until next year everyone...

Our Virtual Adjuster Conference is Back!

Our Virtual Adjuster Conference is Back!

After a successful virtual event last year, the Field Pros Direct Virtual Adjuster Conference is back again on April 26-30, 2021. In a non-COVID world, we would host our conferences in person to kick off CAT season with all of our Field Pros and Team members. Last year, we had to convert the entire conference to a virtual event due to COVID restrictions...and it was a hit!

Adjuster’s loved that they could join from their homes and not have to worry about travel. At this point in time, some of you probably want to get out and travel (if you haven’t already been). While we would love to see you in-person, Field Pros Direct decided to host another virtual event this year. Our hope is to aim for something a little different in 2022.

About the FPD Virtual Adjuster Conference

Our conferences are created to help empower our Field Pros and other adjusters by providing them with the tools and knowledge they need to go into hurricane season with confidence. During this 5-day event, we will bring together FPD leadership, Insurance Carriers, and Educational Companies to provide you with a wide range of valuable topics.

What’s New This Year?

This year we are excited to add some new features to our virtual conference.

  • CE Credits. This year we’ve partnered with HAAG Education and Sdii Engineering to bring you a series of CE accredited courses.

  • Networking. That’s right, virtual networking. Get a chance to interview with some of our team members to help you stand out from the crowd.

Who Should Attend?

While past events are generally reserved for Field Pros, last year we opened it up to all adjusters and recieved great feedback. To stay true to our mission to empower adjusters, we will continue to offer this conference to Field Pros and all other adjusters who are interested.

6 Reasons to Attend the 2021 Conference.

If you’re not sure whether you should attend or not, here are 6 reasons why you won’t want to miss out:

  1. It’s FREE (again)! We are excited to offer this event to all adjusters for free! No, really, it’s free.

  2. No travel is needed. You can join from literally anywhere you have Wifi or cell signal. That means your couch, your backyard, the beach - literally anywhere.

  3. Get a chance to stand out. It’s hard to stand out as an adjuster, which is why we’re offering virtual networking so you can tell the team why you are unlike other adjusters.

  4. Make your own schedule. 5-days seems like a lot, we know. You don’t have to attend all sessions. Pick the best sessions for your goals and add those to your calendar after you register.

  5. Get FPD Carrier Certifications.  When you complete an FPD Carrier Certification class, you get a certificate of completion. This certification is exclusive to FPD that helps increase your chances of getting assignments through that specific FPD Carrier.

FPD Virtual Adjuster Conference 2020 Takeaways

FPD Virtual Adjuster Conference 2020 Takeaways

On May 27th, 2020 Field Pros Direct went live with our first virtual conference. Each year we invite our network of Field Pros to meet in-person for a pre-CAT conference. Our conference focuses on providing adjusters with the training and information they need to go into CAT season ready to hit the ground running.

This year was one for the books. With COVID-19 and social distancing requirements, we were forced to find another way to connect with our adjusters – as cancelling the conference was not an option. So, this year we decided to try a virtual conference while opening it up to adjusters of all experience levels and rosters.

Creating a virtual conference experience

We went in knowing that a virtual conference will not be able to replace the connections made at an in-person event. Instead, we attempted to do our best to provide a personalize virtual conference experience by using webcams, giveaways and fielding questions live – just like you would at an in-person session. The biggest benefit for our presenters and attendees was being able to attend without leaving their home. Adjusters saved tons on travel and entertainment costs without worrying about wearing a mask and gloves.

Carrier Session Highlights

At Field Pros Direct, we are lucky to have partnered with some pretty amazing Carriers for this conference. As an added benefit, we offered an FPD Carrier Certification for all adjusters who stayed for the duration of the Carrier presentations. This FPD Certification will help adjusters boost their ratings on our smart-matching roster. Here’s a quick recap of the sessions:

  • Pharos: Erin Belk, Pharo’s Claim Manager joined us from Louisiana to discuss the policies and procedures adjusters should follow when investigating claims. Erin highlighted the importance of complete documentation on claims to ensure as much clarity as possible.

  • Harbor: TJ Daffron, Harbor’s Assistant Vice President joined us from Gainesville, FL. TJ did a great job visually depicting examples of how to determine coverage of certain claims. His presentation was packed with good information sprinkled with a great sense of humor.

    • FUN FACT: The dog that interrupted the beginning of the session was a German Shepherd Lab Mix

  • Managing the Public Adjuster: John Langowski, Chief Claims Officer of Swyfft joined us from Jacksonville, FL. John’s presentation had a slightly different angle than the others. He focused on providing best practices to manage a claims process when a public adjuster is involved.

  • Allied Trust: Ron Ligocki, Allied’s Field Claims Manager joined us from Tampa, FL to summarize Allied’s growth over the years in addition to their latest coverage areas. Ron went through a detailed best practice guide for all adjusters handling their claims.

  • Boulder/ICAT: Randy Horden, Boulder’s Claim Manager, joined us from Tuscaloosa, AL to discuss ICAT’s coverages in detail in addition to their standards for claims processing. Randy also spent time explaining Boulder’s overall philosophy so that adjusters can be in alignment with their purpose.

Each presenter got 98%+ satisfaction rating from the attendees for their sessions. They each did a fantastic job covering their standards for handling claims – leaving our attendees asking for more!

The New Look of Flood

In addition to Carrier sessions, we also welcomed Bob Butler, Director of NFS, to present the new standards that come with virtual flood adjusting. On April 2, 2020, in response to COVID-19 FEMA released a bulletin giving guidance on handling flood claims remotely. Virtual adjusting is something that has become particularly prevalent during the past couple of months. While some have been utilizing this tool for long before COVID-19, others are being introduced for the first time – flood being one of them.

During this session, Bob and Mary Anne Medina, Field Pros Direct’s VP of Business Development, went through the considerations and requirements for handling flood claims remotely. For those of you who couldn’t attend, you can find NFIP’s claim manual here. Overall the session was very informative for flood adjusters of all experience levels.

Continuing Education and Our Event Partners

Between CE credits, and CPCU certifications, we partnered with some great education providers to present different options adjusters have to stay active. Ryan Holdhusen joined us from HAAG Education. Ryan discussed the benefits that an adjuster can expect by participating in their training programs. We also welcomed Adenike Adeniji from The Institutes. During her session she reviewed the different courses available and gave insights to help an adjuster decide which course may be right for them. Both sessions gave adjusters just enough information to plan for their next step in their professional development.

Virtual Hurricane Happy Hour

To end the 3-days of learning with some fun, we hosted a virtual happy hour. With COVID-19, virtual happy hours have become somewhat of the norm, but can also be a little awkward (not ours!). Our icebreaker was an interactive Hurricane quiz to test everyone’s hurricane knowledge. We had two adjusters tie for first place, leaving to rest of us with lots of new hurricane facts. The FPD team had a great time with the 30+ adjusters (and chicken) who joined the Field Pros Direct team for virtual cocktails with a twist.

Hurricane HH 3.JPG

And that’s a wrap!

With over 80% of our 200+ attendees saying they would come back next year – we were honored to be able to deliver a Field Pros worthy virtual conference experience. Thank you to all of our partners, Carrier presenters, adjusters and the FPD team for making our first virtual conference a success!

The Field Pros Direct Adjuster Conference goes Virtual May 27-29

The Field Pros Direct Adjuster Conference goes Virtual May 27-29

Every year we host an annual in-person conference to kick-off CAT season with our Field Pros and Team members. This multi-day event is generally filled with networking opportunities where adjusters meet the team while getting CE credits and learning about Insurance Carriers CAT plans. These events were designed to help empower our adjusters by providing them with the tools they need to go into CAT season with confidence.

This year’s conference will look a little different. With social distancing still in effect, like many other companies, we are stepping outside the box and launching our first completely virtual conference. Our plan is to emulate as much of the in-person aspects of the conference while keeping everyone safe at home.

About the FPD Virtual Adjuster Conference

During this 3-day event, we are bringing together FPD team leaders, Insurance Carriers and thought leaders to provide you with a wide range of topics. The schedule includes exclusive FPD Carrier Certifications, estimate platform refreshers and even Q&A sessions. By the end of the conference, we hope that all adjusters are ready to hit the ground running when the first hurricane touches down.

Who Should Attend?

In year’s past, these events are generally reserved for Field Pros. The great thing about this virtual event is that we can now offer it to any adjuster – whether you are in the Field Pro network or not. Feel free to invite a friend too!

5 Reasons Field Adjusters Should Attend

We know it’s hard to commit to a 3-day event, but if you’re an adjuster looking for more exposure this hurricane season you don’t want to miss this. Here’s 5 reasons why we think you should attend:

  1. It’s FREE! Most adjuster conferences can come with a price tag, in addition to travel and food costs. Now, you can get the benefits of meeting the FPD team and learning about Insurance Carriers for free.

  2. No travel time. Since it is a virtual event, you can join from virtually anywhere. Your couch, your office, a park nearby (if they are open), your phone – literally anywhere with internet or cell service.

  3. Increase your exposure. By registering for our event, it gives you the opportunity to get on Field Pros Directs radar. Whether you’re a Field Pro already or become one, this is a great way to increase the odds of getting jobs with Field Pros Direct during CAT season.

  4. Pick your schedule. 3-days may not work for your schedule, but that’s ok. You can pick the sessions you want to attend. Just sign into your account at fpdconference.com and select which sessions you are most interested in.

  5. Get FPD Certifications. When you complete an FPD Carrier Certification webinar you get a certificate of completion. This is an FPD exclusive certification. By getting certified with a Carrier it increases your chances of getting assignments through FPD for that carrier.

How Can I Claim My Free Conference Ticket?

It’s easy. Visit https://bit.ly/fpdconference2020 and select “Ticket” to claim your free ticket. Be sure to fill out your full first and last name so that you can qualify for any FPD Carrier Certifications you attend.

The entire Field Pros Direct team is excited to be able to offer this virtual conference for you. If you have any questions about the event or registration, you can contact Ally Momot at amomot@fieldprosdirect.com. We look forward to virtually seeing you there!
